Health Care in Living Color

MashUp works to increase the visibility of health inequities & social injustices that impact the well-being of LGBTQ people of color.

What we do:

  • Bridge the gap between LGBTQ people of color and health care providers

  • Provide resources

  • Train and educate medical professionals on how to provide care to LGBTQ people of color

  • Address discrimination and racism as a public health crisis

Why It Matters

Our community faces double jeopardy within society because of the notion of double discrimination. MashUp offers an outlet of hope through resources that explain and protect.

Racial Discrimination

Daily activities create a lifestyle that involves factors that are unpreventable such as housing, socioeconomics, and education based upon race or complexion. These factors play a role in the high statistics in socioeconomic and lack of quality healthcare in the form of systematic racism.

LGBTQ Discrimination

Social exclusion is an issue that leads to lack of resources within the community based upon an individual sexual orientation. Exclusion can leave our friends homeless, hungry, and unhappy. Any disparity lessens the access to health care.

MashUp works to increase the visibility of health disparities & social inequalities that impact the well-being of LGBTQ people of color.
