Dining Dialogues
Dining Dialogues hosts educational events focused on sexual health, providing a welcoming environment for open conversations about HIV/AIDS, sexual health, and well-being. In 2024, we hosted Timeless Sex (which focused on sex life for queer people over 50), Black Kink Munch (an intro to kink and BDSM for Black folx), and T4Love (a Trans autonomous community conversation about T4T relationships).

There’s something sacred about sharing a meal. Across cultures, sitting down to eat together has long been a way to break tension, build connection, and open space for vulnerability. At MashUp, we understand that food not only nourishes the body—it softens the spirit and prepares us for deeper dialogue. Dining Dialogues uses this simple yet powerful tool to create safe, welcoming spaces where individuals can come together, feel seen, and be heard.
Centering Queer Black Voices Through Storytelling
Each Dining Dialogue is intentionally crafted to focus on a specific segment of the LGBTQ+ community—recognizing that our needs, experiences, and questions are not one-size-fits-all. These gatherings prioritize lived experience and shared wisdom, creating a space where storytelling becomes a form of education, connection, and liberation. Participants are invited to speak freely, listen deeply, and build community around their shared realities.
Expert-Led Conversations on Sexual Health
Our events are more than conversations—they are learning spaces. Every Dining Dialogue features a sexual health expert who guides the discussion, offering insights, answering questions, and helping participants connect personal experience to practical knowledge. From navigating HIV prevention and STI care to unpacking myths and accessing affirming providers, these sessions equip our community with tools for long-term wellness, all in a setting that feels communal—not clinical.
