Timeless Jewels

Timeless Jewels creates a safe gathering space for Black LGBTQ+ elders age 50 and above to be able to foster community, intergenerational connection, and well-being. Timeless Jewels creates space where lived experiences are honored and wisdom is shared.

Each month the group will host an activity, whether a museum outing, bowling, house party, or volunteer opportunity there is always something for everyone. Monthly soirees are usually free and include food. RSVP to stay up to date with each specific event itinerary and location. While the events are specifically catered to queer individuals age 50 and up, everyone is welcome.

    Timeless Jewels creates space where lived experiences are honored and wisdom is shared. These gatherings foster connection and belonging for individuals age 50 and above. Whether you're 50+ or simply seeking a mature, intentional environment, Timeless Jewels welcomes you.

Why this work is important:

59% of LGBTQ+ elders report feeling a lack of companionship (SAGE, 2018). They are also twice as likely to live alone and four times less likely to have children compared to their peers. These findings highlight that creating intentional opportunities for connection is vital for LGBTQ+ elders.

Through the Timeless Jewels, MashUp! aims to foster a sense of community and establish a supportive environment for Black LGBTQ+ individuals who are 50 years old and above. These spaces offer a secure community, encourage mentorship between different generations within the community, and enhance overall health outcomes and quality of life by providing necessary resources and a supportive community.
