Jerry Ivery, Esq. (He/Him)
Jerry Ivery, Jr. is a seasoned legal professional and the Chief Executive Officer of MashUp Nashville, where he leads the organization’s strategic vision, operations, and community impact initiatives. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Jerry served as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing MashUp’s operational, business, and administrative functions and playing a key role in its organizational growth and sustainability. With a background in law and corporate operations, Jerry previously served as Director of Procurement for the Tennessee Department of Health and as Assistant General Counsel for CKE Restaurants and the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBTQ civil rights organization. His professional experience reflects a strong foundation in corporate governance, compliance, and mission-driven leadership. Jerry graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Memphis. He also holds a Juris Doctor with a certification in Tax Law from the University of Memphis School of Law. Licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Jerry’s law practice has been focused on corporate operations, tax, and contractual matters. Jerry's commitment to social justice led him to MashUp in 2020, where he played a pivotal role in the organization's growth and grant acquisition. In Spring 2023, he transitioned from his role at HRC to become MashUp's COO, wholeheartedly dedicating his efforts to the organization's mission. Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Jerry's upbringing in a ministry-focused family fueled his passion for community engagement and social activism. His life's narrative, marked by love, compassion, and a steadfast dedication to justice, is a testament to his unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive world.

Chief of Data and Media/Founder
Brian Issac Marshall, EdD (He/Him)
Brian Issac Marshall was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a Behavioral Health Educator and Researcher, Community Organizer, Health Equity Champion, Mentor, Civic Leader, and Motivational Speaker. He is passionate about building sustainable and effective programs that address health disparities and provide solutions to eradicate barriers that impact underserved youth, young adults, and families. Dr. Marshall studied Political Science at Tuskegee University, received his Bachelor's degree in Mass Media Arts in 2008 from Clark Atlanta University, Master's degree in Civic Leadership from Lipscomb University in 2015. He earned a Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2021. Brian’s career has been HIV program management and development, community health education program implementation, and working with public and private healthcare entities. In February of 2017, Dr. Marshall founded MashUp! Nashville. He was the 2019 recipient of the Nashville LGBT Chamber Community Service Award. Brian has proudly served on several community health initiatives such as the Community Advisory Board for Vanderbilt Vaccine Trials, My Voice Research Council at the Nashville Cares My House program, Neighborhood Health's Board of Directors Quality Committee, the Mayoral appointed Nashville Regional HIV Planning Council where he currently serves as the Chair of the Needs Assessment Committee, and the Nashville Metro Health Department Ending the HIV Epidemic Equity Workgroup. Dr. Marshall received the 2019 Nashville LGBT Chamber Community Service Excellence in Business Award and was honored with the 2022 Human Rights Campaign (Nashville) Equality Award.
