About the Event
Love, Sex and Nina is a multidisciplinary performance experience inspired by the fearless legacy of Nina Simone and rooted in storytelling, movement, music, and collective care. This show brings together artists, public health workers, and community voices to explore themes of pleasure, liberation, mental wellness, reproductive justice, and HIV through embodiment and art. Centering the lived experiences of Black Femmes—Black women (cis and trans), cis men who are femme, and anyone who embodies a feminine spirit—the work honors lived experience as wisdom and celebrates pleasure, grief, rage, joy, and healing as powerful sites of truth and transformation.
Rather than traditional health education, Love, Sex, and Nina invites audiences into an immersive, emotional experience where art becomes a vessel for connection, reflection, and liberation.
